Mobidol Scam - how to extricate oneself?
19th Jan, 2015 at 9:32am

Hi All,

I've been caught in the mobidol scam (downloaded a 'free app' only to find out I would have 20 odd quid charged to my phone account every month).

Can anyone tell me how I go about ridding myself of this curse please? My phone provider tells me it's my responsibility but nothing I've done so far seems to work...

Many thanks in advance.

Argent

Looking on the internet, there are mixed responses.
Some people say reply back with STOP to stop the subscription, others say don't reply back as this starts the scam.

If you search the company name they have a website, and there is a telephone number on there which is a 0330 number so 'should' be charged at local rates.

The other option is to get a new number
Good Luck

Sorry I don't know either. If you haven't tried it already, you might have more luck on MSE than here.  There's so much traffic through their site, someone's bound to have discussed it.

I assume removing the app is not going to cure it?
