Re: SunLife's Over 50 Plan Offer

Yeah, it seems pretty straightforward; they surely wouldn't want to discourage fully qualified customers from giving them decades of premiums. I've had success with many similar offers on 'term assurance' products, however I'm avoiding them lately since they now tend to have no-repeat clauses for th...

Re: SunLife's Over 50 Plan Offer

I looked at some comments on MSE after making the above post. It seems to be successful prospect, although I note that the incentive has varied in recent years (previously £100 or goods valued up to £120 have been offered) on a downward trend, whilst the minimum number of payments to qualify for the...

Re: SunLife's Over 50 Plan Offer

Nice potential profit there. I suppose, some possible snags: * Are you aged 49-85? 8-) * Premium might be higher than the minimum, depending on answers given. * They get your data, or whatever data you enter. * They can ask for ID or decide not to award the gift card, if they wish. Plan T&Cs: ht...

Correction - the account fee is £3.00/month. I opened one of these accounts a few days ago and initiated the switch; with 2 direct debits the offer is worth £132.00 in the first year (i.e. profit £11.00/month).

Re: Natwest £100 switch

Well, never did I imagine that the simple act of opening a Natwest current account would begin a saga where I end up on the brink of involving the Financial Ombudsman Service before the account is even fully up and running! So many calls and visits to branches, pretty much every day over the last we...

Re: Barclaycard breaking link with Amex

I have two of these... one former Egg Money and the other can't even remember anymore what it used to be! I see from my records that the second one was originally a Morgan Stanley card. i know Barclaycard had gone back into a "maximum 1 account" phase again a few months ago. Yes, just bee...

Re: Natwest £100 switch

Having heard nothing about my complaint after a week and still no access to my account, I called Natwest helpline on Thursday evening and waited 20 minutes only to be told they couldn't help/didn't know what's happened and could only suggest that I try visiting a branch instead. I'm not impressed. I...

Re: Natwest £100 switch

This has already been one of my worst switching experiences. Applying was problematic in the first place due to being recognised as a former Natwest (ISA) customer, even though I didn't have any accounts still open. My last account with Natwest was closed years ago! I nevertheless had a new Natwest ...

Re: American Express Offers (Amex)

You drive a tank? :o My car doesn't hold that much either. I've previously redeemed a single-use Esso offer and made up the balance with a gift card, but the Esso assistant spent absolutely ages failing to activate it. I don't remember all the details but think I ended up having to return the next d...
