Re: Halifax Monthly £6.25 ers

Received my annual tax statement for one of my Rewards accounts today and couldn't help noticing that the rewards had tax deducted.

This is interesting because it may mean that in a few days time we'll be receiving £6.25'ers after all.

Quite an exciting prospect!

Re: tax free savings

There are definitely opportunities, especially with the TSB Classic Plus loophole: http://stoozing.com/stoozforum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18 I'd be willing to accept up to a 2% BT charge if I could stash it at 4.89%. It's the best opportunity for a good while. I just hope BT fees aren't hiked by 20%...

Re: Under the stairs Snug

He has a serious (hard on) crush for Santander.

:D

I've tried to like that account but I just can't do it, Santander grind my gears. They can't help it, their systems are awful!

I'm glad someone likes them though

Re: How did you start Stoozing? And how has it evolved?

I jumped straight in with a fast stooze on a balance transfer. It was a N&P 0% fee, I used the Egg Money card as a mule and stashed it away at 6%. Great days. 8-) Have things evolved? I'd say they haven't evolved, it's just that the opportunities have been fewer due to the low interest rate envi...

Re: Extra TSB classic accounts

Yes I should just brave it out and make the call but my "don't upset the apple cart" nature means I probably won't ! Fair point. At times in your stoozing career you'll have some risk-based decision making to do, based on your own circumstances. Generally, the more savings options there a...

Re: Account benefits when travelling

Some nice perks there! I use a Halifax Clarity card for all purchases and cash withdrawals abroad. I have a low £1.3k limit and it gives fantastic exchange rates. I'm currently in Sweden and they readily accept Visa credit cards. As I found in the Netherlands (where they're not so keen on foreign pl...

Re: Extra TSB classic accounts

Applied for another classic account online, but got the dreaded text message asking me to call them to provide further information. grrrrrrrr! Going to let this one lie I think :( Don't panic. I had that on 4 out of 5 applications for Classic accounts. Really nothing to worry about. Mine was becaus...

Re: Extra TSB classic accounts

You should be fine. I chose to apply for the Classic accounts first to see how many I could get and I'm now upgrading one every few weeks. Others apply and upgrade as they go. I've not heard of either being better/worse. If you've any questions, just ask. Please don't advertise this particular trick...

Re: Extra TSB classic accounts

No problem newstoozer. If you don't want to draw attention to yourself then make sure you don't apply for more than, say, 6 accounts in total

Halifax Current account - application issues

I applied for an extra current account today, the aim of the exercise was to upgrade it to a reward account. I noticed a few changes which resulted in me aborting the application. The application form required me to enter new Internet banking setup details. I couldn't progress without populating the...
