Hi Stooz,

Maybe it's me, but I don't seem to have the option to reply to PMs.

Re: Virgin Money

TSB Plus, for 5% on £2K and the same on £250 a month into their regular saver. Nationwide FlexDirect, for 5% on £2,500 (for 12 months) and the same on £500 a month into their regular saver. Lloyds Club, for 4% on £4-5K and the same on £400 a month into their regular saver. The 6% regular savers are ...

Re: Virgin Money

Welcome!

Presumably you've already filled the 4% and 5% current accounts?

With that duration I'd be looking at drip-feeding the 5% and 6% regular savers in order to maximise the return...depending on the limit granted of course.

Did you use your feet or mouse to open these?

Mouse mainly, although had to do 3 with my feet early on! Wouldn't use my feet now though...too much to lose if I caught an advisor on a bad day!

Re: Extra TSB classic accounts

It appears TSB are a little more frugal in issuing accounts compared to Halifax I haven't abused Halifax, BoS, or Lloyds (and won't do) so I can't comment on them, but I can assure you that TSB are most definitely not "frugal" with regards to issuing accounts, providing you bide your time...

Re: Comparing Santander to other Savings Accounts

BoS can be internally funded. Tesco doesn't have a monthly funding requirement, since they withdrew it last year. I've left my cross-funding SOs in place though, just so there's some 'activity' on the account (as otherwise, because I run at £2,950ish, there would only be the one interest transaction...

Re: Comparing Santander to other Savings Accounts

You can have 3 x BoS Vantage, and 2 x Tesco, so that's another £13K they can 'lose' before having to resort to Santander. Additionally, there's Nationwide at 5% for a year. Nationwide and TSB have 5% regular savers paying 5% on a total of £750 a month. Lloyds have a regular saver paying 4% on £400 a...

Re: Donor accounts... Where to open them?

I'd go with DC's earlier post and say RBS and/or NatWest. They were certainly very quick for me this time last year.

Santander would be my back up provider (if I didn't still have loads of YB accounts kicking about!).
