Interest rates

Postby Marges » Sun Aug 07, 2016 11:20 am

I just took out a tesco cc and transfered a non existent balance from my barclaycard because I want to get over the £3k in my Santander 123 account and start earning interest. I've already got 2 tsb classic a/c's filled up. Even at no fee should I have bothered?

Rumors are abound that rates will be heading south , but as yet none have actually confirmed this . My own theory on the S123 is that they will cut the maximum holding sum, rather than the rate itself. However nobody knows , you pays your money and take your choice.
Must say though Marges given your question , I would query the suitability of a S123 account for you.

Santander 123 rate cut now confirmed and worse than feared - it goes down to 1.5% from 01/11/2016.

If too many of there follow I may have to go back to over paying the mortgage...
