Regular Savers

i've had several running in the past few months, but some won't be being renewed..
HSBC and M&S both paying, and hopefully can be renewed, at 6%.
Nationwide paying, and hopefully can be renewed, at 5%.
but Lloyds have dropped from 4% to 3% so will probably not renew.
and TSB have dropped from 5% to 2% so have cashed out and not renewed.

any i'm missing?
i think i'll just work on the basis of saving into 5%+ RSs

I think cashed out meaning matured at 5% but not renewed 2%. I'm in the same position, currently; haven't yet decided whether or not to go for a second year at 2%. Looking at the full interest rate history for this account, it's actually been up or down several times, so maybe 5% (or at least 3%) could return!

that's exactly it Sarah. not renewing at 2%. but perhaps they'll bring 5% back.. retaining the c/a for interest on the 2k and £5/m cashback on spending.

i didn't know about Santander, thanks joker. limited to £200/m. don't have a c/a with them nowadays.

Halifax Kids RS pays 4%, though used to be 6%.

Seems to me like we're witnessing the end of interest paying accounts, to all intents and purposes. If S123 cuts its rate as suggested then all the other current accounts will do likewise.

I have only two from when you could originally have 2 - tried to open another Classic a few months ago and it sent me a text saying to call, but never got round to calling  - is that a normal stage when signing up online for more than 2 or was it to block more accounts being opened? Thanks

It's quite normal to have this request Anon. I faced it on 2 out of 5 occasions.

I hadn't lived at my current address for >3 years so I think that contributed.

It's all documented here

I was only ever asked with reference to the account I was applying for, not the ones hat already existed
