I'm not renewing regular savers from Halifax, Bank Of Scotland or Lloyds this year; all have dropped from 2.50% last year to 2.00% now so I've decided they're not worth it anymore. I've just renewed Club Lloyds however at 2.50% (down from 3.00% last year) which is as low as I'm prepared to go right now!

i'd say that's sensible.. i didn't have RSs with any of those anyway, but i too plan to retain Club Lloyds. i find it to be a useful current account.
only RSs i have are at 5%: HSBC, M&S, Nationwide, along with various monthly DDs in to Friendly Societies and a Credit Union.

i've just realised you meant Club Lloyds Monthly Saver, 2.5%. i haven't bothered with that.
Club Lloyds Current Account paying 1.5% works for me though.

M&S have lowered the RS rate..

so the RegSav stoozepots are on the way out for me when the current 3 i have mature.

fwiw the only RegSav i have nowadays is with HSBC. my account with them will mature in September. they're only offering 2.75% now, so when that matures i'll be out of cash RegSavs.
i have some DDs into building society savings accounts and a credit union, and contibutions to friendly society plans, which help re satisfying account criteria, and in some cases build up pots i can call on if i need to.

Just renewed M&S at 2.75% but don't know if that rate will still be available when my FD & HSBC ones mature in January next year.

It won't be. The regular saver rates for new FD & HSBC accounts dropped to 1% last month, whilst M&S have gone further and withdrawn theirs.

end of the road for those accounts being useful, sadly.
other than using Co-ops for short-term 2%+ and carpetbagging building societies i can't see any case for holding cash: with rates being maintained so low and money being pumped into the system pushing up asset prices. this has been my best year by a distance, and it hasn't been difficult to choose positions.
