Natwest RBS switch

Postby DC. » Mon Mar 11, 2024 3:38 pm

Get our £200 offer when you switch to NatWest
Apply online or via our mobile app to switch a current account held elsewhere using the Current Account Switch Service into a NatWest bank account from 15 February 2024.

Deposit £1,250 into your account and log in to our mobile banking app within 60 days. App eligibility criteria apply.

When you meet these conditions, we'll pay £200 into your eligible account within 7 days.

Your switch must fully complete to receive the incentive, this means your old bank account will close and any funds and Direct Debits will move over to us. The deposit of £1,250 can be made up of multiple credits and must remain in the account for 24 hours. If you've previously received a switcher incentive from NatWest Group since 01 January 2020, you will not be eligible for this offer. Offer can be withdrawn or amended at any time.

I did this switch for myself and GF.
We both already had the no reward accounts.
I had done switches in the past for these, so i looked through transactions and couldn't see any incentive payments up to the cut-off date.

My payment came quickly, probably within 7 days of the switch happening. I waited until they confirmed the switch went through, and stuck the money in mine first over the weekend, then to GF account.
They paid after 4 days for me , then 2 days after for GF, and she didn't even use the app

The offer is still on, and no DD needed if you are just going for the £200

the way the above the reads DC would be that you do need to transfer DDs to bag the incentive.

This is where you should try, and see if they deny you the incentive

I did this recently too - pretty quick and easy £200.

The PIN number for my debit card never showed up (and the PIN reminder option in the app won't show it either) but that only matters if I keep the account. I'm currently undecided about doing so. The rewards can provide a profit but typically only £3/month. The companion credit card potentially makes this offering a bit more interesting:

I've now setup a couple of £2 charity donations to keep this account going earning the £5 reward each month; effectively £1/month for £4 in donations (£5 with Gift Aid) seems like a good enough reason to hang onto it for awhile.
