Best BT Card Deal?

Postby planteria » Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:57 pm

i'm looking at applying for a BT card tomorrow.
i have c£17k on a Barclaycard which needs to be paid back this month, and i'm looking at moving a portion of it to another card, if i can get a good deal.
MBNA/Lloyds/Virgin don't seen to show their deals online any more.
nothing tasty from CapitalOne.
the best i can see is from HSBC: https://www.hsbc.co.uk/credit-cards/pro ... -transfer/
i bank with them, so maybe i'd get this with a decent limit.
i can also look at asking MBNA and Nationwide if they can come up with something on my existing accounts.
anyone got any other ideas?

How about Santander - 18 months, no fee? Or maybe Halifax - 15 months, no fee?

Virgin have 27 months with 1.45% fee?

i've been through the process today.

Nationwide: existing account. offered me 7.9%Int/18m/no fee. no thank you.

MBNA: existing account. offered me 0%Int/26m/3%fee. better. but no thank you.

Santander: 0%Int/18m/no fee: Applied: Unsuccessful.

Halifax: Had a bit of a game, as applying via the link always drops out.. and applying from the website cold lead me to being told i was eligible for 3 offers: Clarity, with no BT deal, FlexiCard, no fee but need to pay installments over 2-36 months, Classic, 0% for up to 16m, but 3% fee. no thank you. but.. logged into online banking and applied from there: 0%Int/15m/no fee/£15klt/£14250bt deal done.

thank you.. but unfortunately Halifax have let me down and i've gone with MBNA instead.
paying a £400+ fee doesn't sit very nicely, but it's still cheap money and i can use it profitably.

£14,250 at 2% is £285/yr, for example.
