Re: Bitcoin
are you trading through Coinbase, Rodes?
I was looking the other day and I do think there is real risk in choosing the wrong exchange.. Gemini and Kraken seem highly rated, and ‘secure’. but perhaps there is just additional cost there, for no real benefit.
the Ledger Nano S seems to be the hard wallet to have.
Keeping coin stashed safely is important, with a hard wallet and paper backups, but we also don’t want to have an exchange being at risk of hacking, or too open with governments around the world.

Re: Bitcoin
i have ordered a LNS.
need to decide whether to use Bitbargain, Coinbase, Kraken or Gemini.
and need to decide which CCs to have a dabble on. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Ripple all seem to be on the menu for people i know.

Re: Bitcoin
i used coinbase as simple and quick purchase with a debit card (though not the cheapest) i have a bittrex acc but not used it. trading on etoro. but really just now buying and holding rather than trading. bit, lite, eth, ripple, dash, eth classic , eoin, bitcash are all worth a punt it would seem
Re: Bitcoin
My problem is - how do you value these currencies? It feels like with no underlying asset it's mostly the 'Greater Fool Theory' holding the price up. I probably wouldn't have much of a clue when to take profit or stop-loss!
Re: Bitcoin
If any coins are going to have a Fork, then be careful where your coins are stored.
Although coinbase will give access to bitcoin cash, they will have held it for 5 months.

Best to transfer to your local wallet, then research how to access the new coins.

Re: Bitcoin
Bitcoin is currently on a bit of a dip.
There is an issue with bitcoin currently in that only so many transactions can be processed per block, so transactions with higher fees get priority.
If you have a transaction that is stuck, there is a facility to get it bumped up in priority, by using bitcoin cash to fund it. that could explain the current rise in bitcoin cash.
